FRANGO PRAWNS® was founded by Pedro Costa, an entrepreneur with more than three decades of experience in the food retail, seafood and hospitality industries across Southern Africa and Europe. Throughout his career, Pedro recognised that South Africa’s diverse population was looking for more than traditional restaurant offerings. He saw an opportunity to create a fresh, modern dining concept that combined the rich culinary influences of Portugal and Mozambique with the tastes, lifestyles and expectations of the South African consumer. Rather than reproducing traditional cuisine, his vision was to engineer a brand that delivered authentic flavour through a contemporary menu designed for broad market appeal. Every recipe, sauce, marinade and cooking method was carefully developed to ensure consistency, quality and a memorable customer experience. Years of research, recipe development and operational planning culminated in the creation of FRANGO PRAWNS®, a concept centred around premium flame-grilled chicken, quality seafood and a scalable business model built for sustainable growth.
